MY STYLE:
One of the first questions people tend to ask is “What is your style?”. There are some photographers that classify themselves as photojournalists and those that classify themselves as traditionalists. I don’t really fit into any category completely.
I have a background in both photojournalism and commercial photography so I don’t see the world in just one light. When I photograph a wedding I love capturing the moments of your day; the moments that are spontaneous and emotion-filled, silly and surprising. But I also really love to create beautiful images with the bride and groom. When I photograph a senior in high school, I want to capture their personality and what they love to do. All portraits are on location and casual.
ABOUT ME:
I was born and raised in Fargo and fell in love with photography at the age of 9. I won a state-wide competition with a picture of a tree and I was hooked! After high school I headed over the river to Minnesota State University – Moorhead where I received a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Photojournalism. Wanting to continue my photographic education I decided to head east. I headed all the way to Turners Falls, Massachusetts to attend the prestigious Hallmark Institute of Photography. The intense 10-month program at Hallmark taught me about the commercial and business side of the photographic industry.
While MSUM taught me about capturing moments that may only last a split second, Hallmark taught me about capturing a beautiful image and how to make an already great image even better in post-production.
With the training I have received, I am able to capture you and your personality and give you beautiful images to last a lifetime.

Hi Katie
I work with you mom at the clinic and have a 17 year old boy that I am hoping will graduate in 2009. I would love to have his senior photos done by you, love the things you have done! I am thinking sometime in August?
Please let me know if this is something that you would consider.
